The League of Women Voters of Northfield and Cannon Falls invites the public to attend its Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 23rd at the Friends’ Meeting House at 512 Washington Street in Northfield. All are welcome to come for the entire morning.
There will be coffee and social time at 9 am, followed by a brief business meeting at 9:30 am. The program begins at 10:00 am.
Deb Fitzpatrick, Program Director of the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Policy’s Center on Women, Gender, and Public Policy, will speak on “The Battle for Equal Pay: Men on Paternity Leave, Women in Hard Hats, and Other Fronts in the Fight.” There will be time for Q & A following Ms. Fitzpatrick’s presentation.

The Membership Committee of the Board of Directors is hosting a "Meet and Greet" on Wednesday, December 9th from 5-7 pm in the Tavern Lounge at the Archer House.
All members are invited to attend this informal gathering and you are asked to contact Membership Chair Bonnie Jean Flom with names of prospective members (firstname.lastname@example.org). An email invitation from our president, Mary Hahn, will be sent to them.
Thank you for taking the time to share the names of friends and neighbors who value our work and could help us move it forward. Our state League is promoting membership and leadership development across Minnesota. Current members are the key to extending invitations to newcomers. We hope to see you on December 9th!

In the last eCatalyst, members were invited to attend a LWVMN Southeast Regional Fall Seminar at Northfield’s Senior Center on Saturday, November 16th. We have been notified by the State League of the cancellation of the Northfield event.
We have been invited to the Seminar being held on Saturday, November 23rd from 9-11:30 am in St. Paul in the Minnesota Women’s Building (where State League Offices are located) at 550 Rice Street. Registration to attend in person is $10, with on-line registration $5. If you have questions about registration, you are asked to contact Anika Walz at the State Office (651-224-5445; email@example.com).
The topic of the Fall Seminars: Learn how to make your local league sustainable and successful. There will also be a focus on how to restructure your local league to a 501(c)3, LLC and how to engage in the capital campaign.

As a follow-up to our Forum on the ABC’s of the Affordable Care Act, we are addressing the topic of the current status of MNSure at our next “What’s Up?” gathering. The event will take place on Monday, November 25th at 7 pm at The Hideaway in downtown Northfield.
We are pleased to announce that Jacob Grippen, MNSure Community Outreach Liaison, will be joining us, along with Jim Blaha, Executive Director of Northfield’s Community Action Center, and local insurance agent, Dale Ness.
We hope you’ll be able to join us for this informal presentation and discussion. Invite friends and neighbors to become informed about this important topic! We hope you’ve marked your calendars for these upcoming “What’s Up?” Monday events, as well: January 27th, February 24th, and March 24th.
