The first item addressed was to recommend approval to City Council of a Conditional Use Permit for a Licensed Day Care Facility at 700 Division Street, site of the Village Drug, to be operated by the Pediatric and Young Adult Care Clinic. Applicant Dr. Kristine Matson plans to use 182 square feet of the clinic as "sick bay" for 1 - 6 children ,ages newborn to 12 years, per day. One commission member described the plan as an incredible public service.
The five year Capitol Improvement Plan for the city was presented by Kathleen McBride, Financial Director and Brian O"Connell, Community Development Director. Priorities for 2007:
1. New crosswalks at 6th and Division and at the Library Plaza Project.
2. Road construction on 5th Street from Washington to Prairie streets.
3. MN State Aid from the gas tax for Spring Creek Road.
McBride was complimented on the first projected five year plan to finance the city.
Ross Currier and Greg Colby were elected to continue serving as Chair and Vice Chair of the Planning Commission.
