A new memory care facility construction project at the Northfield Retirement Community campus was recommended to City council for approval. The twelve unit, 7000 square foot building was a "Major Change" to the original Planned Unit Development.
The Commission adjourned for an informal discussion about the community involvement process for the Comprehensive Plan. About 250 citizens attended a "Community Choices Workshop" Tuesday, April 3 at the Armory. Consultant Jamie Green, from American Communities Partnership Limited, guided participants in a development principals survey for the Northfield Land Use Plan. A follow-up meeting will be held Tuesday, May 15 at which the audience may send up prepared statements on growth in the city. Background on feedback materials from the consultant will be on the Web Site; www.northfieldplan.org. The Planning Commission will take a more active roll at this meeting.
