Rice County Commissioners Meeting - Sept. 4, 2007

The first agenda item was a presentation of the "compensation system results" by a representative from the Employees Association. He presented the lengthy and complete results of a study of the compensation system. The study resulted in the recommendation of a new compensation plan for Rice County which should be beneficial to both the county and the employees. The Commissioners' comments were generally favorable.
The second agenda item was a discussion of union negotiation strategy. It was a CLOSED SESSION as the printed agenda indicated, and observers found seats in the hall until the discussion ended and the meeting room was again open to all.
The third and final agenda item was the presentation of the Preliminary 2008 Budget Report. Everyone present received a copy -- 146 pages in a copy.
