Head of Parks and Facilities, Joe McGough, was authorized by the commissioners to advertise for bids on parking improvement projects near the county government buildings. Funds for this project have been allocated through Capital Improvement Project bonds.
Public Health, headed by Mary Ho and Social Services headed by Mark Shaw requested approval of contracts with vendors providing important services . Funding for mental health services was a significant part of the requests by these departments, as was funding, for example, of adult foster care, home care, and support services.
Auditor/Treasurer Fran Windschitl presented applications from county businesses for liquor licenses. There was also one application for a tobacco license. These were approved.
Amendments to the county zoning ordinance had been proposed at a previous meeting. The commissioners set a public hearing before the Planning Commission for 7:05 p.m. on August 7, 2008. for consideration of those amendments. There will also be a public hearing before the Planning Commission at 7:05 on August 7 for consideration of the zoning map amendment to the Wild and Scenic District boundary.
