League of Women Voters

PUBLICITY RELEASE: On Thursday, March 26th, at 7:00, the League of Women Voters of Northfield & Cannon Falls will present "Northfield District Education Update: Where We Are; Where We Should Be" in room 106 of the Northfield Senior Center. The program will feature three members of the Northfield Board of Education and the Executive Director of the Minnesota Association of School Administrators. Diane Cirksena will summarize past education funding under Gov. Pawlenty and his proposal for the future. Charlie Kyte will describe current education bills in the Legislature and their prospect for passage. Anne Maple will outline Northfield's special education costs and needs in Northfield, and Kari Nelson will present an overview of Northfield School District strengths and vulnerabilities in the current economic climate. The meeting is open to the public.
