Jan Mitchell, LWV Observer

All members were present.

Principals from Bridgewater and Sibley schools presented detailed reports on their school improvement plans.

The 2009 audit report was presented, and the District had exceptionally good numbers. The general fund showed an improvement of almost $2 million.

The Board approved a resolution to designate funds for future obligations to retirees. The measure will provide $1,686,384 for those obligations for the next three years.

The Board approved Lease Purchase Financing for the Sibley School renovations.  Significant savings on the cost of the project were made due to the favorable bidding climate.

The Board approved a grant request for $40,000 to the MN Pollution Control Agency to support composting efforts in the District.

The American Education Week Proclamation was approved.

The meeting on November 23 will begin at 7:30 instead of 7 p.m. so that Board members can attend a reception honoring National Merit scholars at 6:30.

The December 14th meeting will incorporate a Truth in Taxation Hearing.

The meeting was adjourned.
