League Salon

FIRST “LEAGUE SALON” COMING TUESDAY, SEPT. 16!

Do you miss the old LWV “unit” meetings? The coffee and conversation with bright women about serious topics? The friendships that grew from those conversations? You’re not the only one.
Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 16, monthly unit meetings are back with a new name: “League Salon.” Don’t smile; re-branding works for Proctor and Gamble.
The LWVNCF board’s goal is to revive the old unit-meeting camaraderie through member-only gatherings that include intellectual stimulation, thoughtful conversation, and enjoyment. League Salon will meet at the same place (to be announced) and same time each month.
Salon topics will often relate to the subject of a public meeting scheduled later in the same month. For example, in September leaguers will watch a DVD of the speech former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor gave at a recent LWVMN meeting on the threats to judicial independence. Then, at our kick-off meeting on Sat., Sept. 27th, former Gov. Al Quie will present Minnesotans for an Impartial Judiciary’s plan for protecting judicial independence in Minnesota. Please join us on Sept. 16th!
