Downtown Northfield will be the place to be Saturday, October 2. The Downtown merchants are having a Fall Festival and the League of Women Voters will have a candidates’ fair on Bridge Square.
The candidates’ fair will help local voters prepare for casting ballots in the general election to be held November 2. It will be held under a big tent on Bridge Square from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come listen to the candidates discuss their positions on a variety of issues. Members of the audience will be invited to submit written questions for the candidates. The candidates will also have tables on the square where they will hand out literature and informally talk to citizens before and after their segments of the forum.
The order for the forum is as follows:
10 a.m. School board candidates (four open seats)
Mike Berthelsen, Diane Cirksena, Kathryn Hargis, Paul Hager, Wendy Smith,
Regina Zakrajsek.
11 a.m. Mayor and City Council candidates (2nd and 3rd wards and at-large position)
