- Hoisington comment: Suggested moving a meeting to 7 pm to support more public involvement. Chair agreed to discuss further at a work session.

- Approved Alternative Resolutions Contract
- Board approved in 2022 to terminate the contract. It was decided that it is in the best interest of the county to remain in a contract that holds us fiscally responsible to those that wish to remain with ARI for guardianship/conservatorship needs.
- Malecha: Where does the money come from for the 2024 year?
- A: It comes from the social services budget.
- Purfeerst: How many clients are being served by Alternative Resolutions?
- 69 – guardianship
- 10 – conservatorship
- 39 – under both guardianship and conservatorship
- And going forward, the contract would only be for conservatorship.
- Discussed how the costs are determined, how much of this is mandated by the state, how the staffing at the county is working and whether we have duplicative staffing if having a contract with Alternative Resolutions, and whether/how to achieve cost savings.The goal remains to bring services internally to the county, but for now, there continue to be cases served through Alternative Resolutions. The purpose of having a contract is to ensure that the per client rate of pay to Alternative Resolutions is set and negotiated.
