The League of Women Voters of Northfield and Cannon Falls (LWVNCF) will host a
Northfield Mayor and City Council (At Large ) Candidate Forums prior to the 2024 August Primary Election.
The forums will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Viking Theater, Buntrock Commons, St. Olaf College (1500 St. Olaf Ave) in Northfield. The Northfield Mayor candidate forum will be held from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Immediately following the Mayoral forum and a brief 5-minute recess, a second forum will begin for Northfield City Council At Large and Ward 2 candidates, ending shortly after 8:00 PM.
Rochester League-member Catherine Davis will moderate the mayoral forum; the moderator for the city council forum is TBD . This event is free and open to the public.

Email Questions in Advance or Submit at Event
Voters have two opportunities to submit questions to the candidates. First, audience members also can submit questions in writing at the event, in accordance with published Forum Rules. Second, the league also has an email for voters to submit questions to in advance: contactus@lwvnorthfieldmn.org. By League of Women Voter policy, the identity of the person asking the question is confidential. Any questions submitted via email will remain confidential with all identifying information removed before
the event. Questions may be revised, edited, and/or condensed by the trained question facilitators.
Format of Candidate Forums
The LWV MN Candidate Participation policy states that all forums will be held as scheduled, even if one or more of the candidates is unable or unwilling to attend. During the forum, candidates will deliver a 2-minute opening statement. Each candidate will have one minute to answer the questions posed by the moderator.

All Minnesota candidates who have filed for office in a competitive race have received a questionnaire to provide information about issues important to their candidacy.
