Approval of Agenda and Minutes April 8, 2025
Outside Agency: MCIT 2025 Updates. MN Counties Intergovernmental Trust (Insurance), established 1979, created by MN counties as a risk pool, serving 81 counties and other entities such as soil/water, libraries. Areas covered include workers compensation, property and casualty, cyber claims and law enforcement liability.
Environmental Services: Two amendments proposed and adopted regarding cannabis and hemp retail and business registration and temporary cannabis event permitting, both to align with state regulations. The first passed unanimously and the second with Commissioner Peters declining, stating he would prefer tighter rules around temporary use permits.
Facilities Department: Two quotes for LED lighting projects, in Courthouse and Law Enforcement Center need further clarification; revisit two weeks
Information Technology: Zix Essentials Email Security and Civic Plus website services annual renewals requested and approved.
Assessor’s Office: Upgrade to Enterprise 11.4 and ArcGIS Pro arcel Fabric Funding Request (software). Approved
Social Services: Proclamation of Mental Health Awareness Month, May. Approved
Community Corrections; Appointment of members to the Community Corrections Advisory Board (CCAB). Intentional in bringing in various community members to this board, from across region. Approved.
Proclamation of Treatment Court Month, May. This effort began in 2014 and there are 4,000 such courts in the US. Approved.
Approval and adoption of the revisions to the CCAB Bylaws, updated. Approved.
Sheriff’s Office: Proclamation of National Correctional Officers Week, May 4-10, 2025. Established in 1984 to be the first week in May. Approved.
Proclamation of National Police Week, May 11-17, 2025. Established in 1962 to honor those officers lost in the line of duty. Approved.
Parks: Approval of branding logo for Parks Dept., previously approved by Parks committee. Approved
Highway: Several contracts awarded. All approved
