Greetings Northfield and Cannon Fall LWVMN members,
We write in the middle of this pandemic to check in with each of you and provide you with some updates on our local League activities. Following recommendations from the State League, we are postponing our upcoming events.
Specifically, we are postponing our annual meeting until further notice from the Presidents. At our most recent board meeting we unanimously agreed to do this, and all currently serving board members are willing to remain in their positions until we are able to hold the annual meeting and vote on our board (if you are interested in a leadership position for this upcoming year whenever it starts, please let us know).
We are also postponing our new member gathering which we had hoped to hold in early May. Until we are able to gather, we will be in touch through email and mail chimp. In the spirit of our centennial year, we are working on a new brochure that we are looking forward to sharing in the next weeks.
As you may remember, we have moved to a calendar year for our finances. We informed our membership in December. This will make our accounting and other obligations easier and more straight forward for compliance. Generally at the time of the annual meeting, we ask for you to renew your membership and then accept your contributions during the remainder of the year.

In general, we are still doing letter writing and trying to figure out our way through voter services, voter advocacy, and census mobilization during this time period. We are excited to be exploring new collaborations with young people in Northfield with the support of the statewide League. If you would like to be involved in any of our activities, please let us know. We welcome more letter writers and voter services volunteers.
